Congratulations to the Naomh Eoin U14 Camogie panel who won the treble this season. They won the Feile B championship, U14b Championship & the U14b league. This talented bunch of girls have fought a tough campaign all season and have played some fantastic hurling and won a lot of admiration for their commitment and hard work.
They have been great ambassadors for Naomh Eoin and a credit to themselves for coming back from past defeats to have such fighting spirit.
They finished off the season with a win over Rasharkin in the Championship final by a scoreline of 4-2 to 0-1. The Naomh Eoin Girls took the lead within a few minutes with a goal from Chloe Fox and didn’t let up pressing the Rasharkin defence – who performed very well to keep the Naomh Eoin attacks at bay.
The defence of Siantelle Boyd, Aideen Quinn, Maedbh Fennell, Leona Johnston , Katie Devlin & Kate Carlin kept a tight back line and prevented the number of attempts on Naomh Eoin’s Keeper Sophie Boyle to a minimum.
With Ceara Carleton and Claire Mc Connell controlling midfield they soon started to feed the ball off to the half forward line of Katie Connolly, Natasha Clarke and Niamh Hamill who started to get on the score sheet with Niamh getting a personal tally of 2-1 & Natasha 1-1.
The forward line off Eireann Boyd & Eimear Carson kept pressing the Rasharkin goals with the Rasharkin keeper making some excellent saves to keep the scores down.
The Naomh Eoin team were in control throughout the game which allowed for other members of the panel to get a run out with the mentors making a number of changes bringing on Cara Mc Callin, Aifa Gough, Anna McCaffrey, Cladagh Lavery, Sadbh Thompson, Rhiannon Reeves & Cristin Magennis at different stages.
A big thank you also to the Mentors Jojo, Ciaran & Conal for helping the ladies achieve so much success this season, as always the parents for their continuous support & Jim Boyle from Icemos for sponsorship this season. NEA
