Corrigan hosted Naomh Eoin’s annual presentation and volunteer appreciation night on Saturday, with our teams, volunteers and camogie section honoured in their 25th anniversary year.
We welcomed county chairman Collie Donnelly for the evening and he was given the honour of presenting medals to our county intermediate camogie champions, Beringer Cup winners, McDermott Cup winners, Jim Nelson Cup winners and SA League champions.
First on the night however, our 2016 Volunteer of the year, Eleanor Kelly, was recognised by her peers with a special presentation by Maria Gough. Match days and Saturdays in the Chatterbox wouldn’t be the same without Eleanor’s welcome and smile.
MC for the evening, Joe McGuinness then thanked all our club volunteers for their sterling efforts throughout what was a very busy year on and off the field and expressed the hope that even more willing members would be added to our growing list of helpers.
We also marked our 25 years of camogie with presentations to the ever-present Ann Jackson and our original camogie commitee. The success of the senior camogs this year would not have been possible without the efforts of Ann and the ladies from the beginnings 25 years ago.
Next up was our footballers who collected 2 trophies from South Antrim, Barry Mulgrew accepting the McDermott Cup and Anto Press the Beringer Cup, with a number of players involved in both successes.
Our hurlers too collected some silverware with both the SA league and Jim Nelson Cup on display, captain Conal Morgan accepting on behalf of both squads.
Last but by no means least, our senior camogs, victorious in the county Intermediate championship but unlucky to be pipped in the Ulster final, were honoured for their brilliant campaign, accepting their medals from the county chairman to the ovation of those present. We thank the girls for giving us a great year and for marking the 25 year anniversary with some silverware!
