Féile Day 1 is drawing to a close. Pride of place goes to the Camógs who returned from Aghaderg unbeaten after 2 wins today. On Saturday at 10.00am they will play our visitors from Roscommon (Four Roads) to see who tops the group. The hopes of our young hurlers are still very much alive after losing to Kilconieran (Galway) but bouncing back to defeat Portaferry. Tomorrow at 11.00am we play our visitors from Cork (Lisgoold), with the winners qualifying for the Cup competition and the losers competing for the Féile Shield. Both quarter-finals are scheduled for 2.30pm at Corrigan Park and MacCrory Park. The atmosphere was very enjoyable today, so please be sure to call down tomorrow to support our players, mentors and event organisers who have worked for several months to ensure an enjoyable weekend for our visitors.
Hopefully our teams can progress to the semi-finals which take place on Sunday at Lavey. On Saturday evening we host the Féile BBQ. Last year was a great spectacle to see over 100 young people pucking the ball about on the pitch, again all welcome.
Sunday is also a big day for our U-21 Hurler’s as we take on C’dall in the final at Ballymena, throw-in is at 1pm. I know we will have a sizeable support and hopefully we can bring the cup back to Corrigan Park after the game
