Naomh Eoin U21 footballers advanced to the Ulster semi-final on Saturday, after a thoroughly deserved win over Omagh St. Enda’s at Creggan.

Played at a hectic pace throughout, the Johnnies’ ability to open up the Omagh defence and score 3 fine goals proved the difference between the sides, with the strong running of man-of-the-match McBride, Conor Johnston and Locky McCurdy a headache fopr them all afternoon.

A feature of the Naomh Eoin play over the 60 minutes was the intensity of the tackling, which limited Omagh’s scoring chances and meant that, once we hit the front with our second goal, we were able to push on and win the game. We did have to endure one scary moment when McKenna’s crossbar was rattled but in the end we were more than worth the win.

The lads now have another difficult fixture in next week’s semi-final against Glen.  However, a  similar performance to Saturday’s will give us a great chance to reach the final.
